In starting a new project we all need a little inspiration. Here is a short  list of some of my favorite landscaping-related books. Some are filled with great pictures and fabulous ideas. Others are sources of information  for filling in the final details in your landscaping plan. All are worth a look:

Woody Ornamentals for the Prairies

This well illustrated book sets out everything you need to know about planning, cultivation, and preparation for planting, routine care, and special needs of over 250 species of woody ornamentals. Includes a full colour illustration and a black-and white scale drawing for each tree or shrub.

Perennials for the Prairies

A detailed and well illustrated reference for perennials that are well adapted to the climate of the Canadian prairies. If you are unable to find this book you might consider Perrennials for the Plains and Prairies by the same author.
