This is a very small garden - about five feet square - in a difficult location bounded on four sides by the house, the garage, a sidewalk and the front steps. To compound the challenge, it is located on the shady north side of the house. Hostas and spreading junipers are thriving here and will continue to grow and fill the space. A cover of river rock keeps everything clean. If the owner was looking for a dash of color, a ceramic pot filled with impatiens would be an easy addition.
